UV damage is irreversible!
The intensity of the UVA/UVB rays emitted by tanning beds can be 10–15 times greater than that of natural sunlight. Direct exposure may cause:
In the short term: dry eyes, redness, swelling and photosensitive conjunctivitis (‘tanning bed eye’).
Long-term effects include corneal damage and lens opacity (an increased risk of cataracts).
Ordinary sunglasses are not protective glasses!
You must use professional UV-sealed goggles that are marked as providing 100% UVA/UVB protection. Ordinary sunglasses may leak light.
Contact lenses offer no protection and must be removed in advance.
Correct protection method:
Check that the goggles are intact and free of cracks before use.
Keep your eyes closed throughout the process and wear the goggles, even if you close your eyes, as ultraviolet rays can still penetrate the eyelids.
Choose disposable goggles or disinfect them after use to avoid cross-infection.
Tips: If you forget to wear the goggles and experience eye pain or photophobia, apply cold compresses immediately and seek medical attention. Healthy tanning: safety first!
