1. Moisturise immediately.
Apply aloe vera gel or after-sun repair lotion to soothe dry skin and mild sunburn.
Use an alcohol-free moisturiser to help lock in moisture and prevent peeling or redness.
2. Avoid high-temperature stimulation.
Avoid hot baths, saunas and hot springs for 24 hours. High temperatures will aggravate dryness and sensitivity of the skin.
Wash with warm water and avoid irritating shower gels; choose mild, pH-balanced products instead.
3. Prevent secondary UV exposure.
Avoid direct sunlight on the same day, for example by avoiding outdoor activities and sunbathing. Tanning beds put the skin under UV stress. Exposure to the sun on top of this can easily cause sunburn or pigmentation.
Wear physical sun protection (such as hats and long-sleeved clothing) when going out. If you need to use sunscreen, choose products with a low SPF (15–30) that do not clog pores.
4. Strengthen repair care.
Avoid exfoliating or using skincare products containing acids (AHA/BHA) or retinol for 48 hours to prevent further irritation.
Drink plenty of water and eat antioxidant-rich foods (such as vitamin C and E) to help your skin recover.
5. Special situation treatment
If you experience redness, swelling or stinging, apply a cold towel and stop using the tanning bed until your skin has recovered.
If you have severe sunburn (blistering or peeling), seek medical treatment.
Scientific care can prolong the tanning effect while reducing the risk of skin damage!
